美国北卡数学竞赛（The North Carolina State Mathematics Contest, 缩写SMC）始于1979年，由美国数学教师协 会（NCTM）下的北卡数学教师协会（NCCTM）发起，至今已举办40届。北卡数学竞赛拥有专业的命题委员会，是 北卡州规模最大、影响力最大的中学数学竞赛，在美国亦具有很高的认可度和影响力。

比赛由资格赛（Qualifying Contests）与总决赛（SMC, Comprhensive, Final）构成。每年，多所美国大学、学院 会承办区域资格赛，而资格赛的优胜者（约8%）才能参加最后的总决赛（SMC, Comprehensive, Final）。总决赛的 赛场设在美国第一所理科实验学校（NCSSM北卡数学与科学学校）。

自2018年起，应美方邀请，中国学生可在国内参加北卡数学竞赛的资格赛及总决赛。比赛由SMC中国组委会举办，采 用美方相同的比赛赛制、相同的英文试题以及评分规则，比赛成绩优异者将获得相关证书，名列前茅者由美方公布于 官网。2018年4月，四川部分优秀同学受邀参加了这两项赛事，获得总决赛前20名的成绩已在其官网公布。

资格赛 Qualifying Contests

比赛时间 : 2019年3月16日周六9:00

考试地点 : 四川成都赛区：英锐教育

参赛对象 : 10-12年级在校学生

考试时长 : 60分钟

考试题型 : 单选题，总计20道，答对得4分，不答得1分，答错得0分。

总决赛 State Mathematics Contest

比赛时间 : 2019年4月中旬具体时间将在2019年3月通知

考试地点 : 四川成都赛区：英锐教育

参赛对象 : 在资格赛中排名前10%，或获得晋级2019年AIME资格者

考试时长 : 90分钟

考试题型 : 单选题，总计20道，答对得4分，不答得1分，答错得0分。
解答题，总计10道，答对得5分，不答或答错得0分。
附加题，总计1道，不计入总分，仅在区分总分相同的排名者中使用。

参赛费用

资格赛 ：16美元（或等值人民币）（费用包含SMC试卷费用、评审阅卷费用、考务费用及学术材料费用）

总决赛 ：16美元（或等值人民币）（费用包含SMC试卷费用、评审阅卷费用、考务费用及学术材料费用）

资格赛 ：2019年1月底确定考点学校后，组委会将向全国重点中学和国际学校发出参赛报名邀请和参赛说明

总决赛 ：2019年3月，资格赛成绩评定完毕后，组委会将定向邀请晋级同学参加总决赛

My favorite memory around the Nc state mathematics contest was 1988. This was the first year that ARML was at Duke. As a way to reward the students making up the Nc team, we pent a weekend at a big beach house. A lot of the time was inside doing math problems, but I got to play in the ocean, toss Frisbees in the sand, and go for walks down beach. It was a lot of fun-a good mix of outdoor and indoor activity and a wild mix of people

My interest in mathematics sparked early on when I attended my first contest in 7th grade For the first time, I approached math problems with the intensity and excitement that nvigorated my studies all the way to the end of high school. This contest and many other possible with the help of avid teachers who organized competitions, ran problem -solving seminars, and informed us about other valuable opportunities, such summer programs that I attended throughout high school.
